It raised awareness of the need to update CPR skills. Well received. I was asked to come back to recertify the staff in CPR.

We haven’t officially initiated the AED drill teams in the other buildings. We will definitely have them in place for the spring drill in each building. The students were very interested in our drill and participated with the AED team. The fire and ambulance also was involved so they saw the whole process from start to end. They thought it was great.

We planned to do one in the elementary school, however, due to illness several key players were not available. We have another drill scheduled in January. The staff members were very apprehensive about the drill, however, after completing the drill they commented that they were much more comfortable in the AED process. A fire department first responder representative was present which was helpful in evaluating the drill.

We worked with a local Hospital on our drill for the Junior High and Senior High. The contact person set up the drill and helped us debrief. We have a copy of appropriate paperwork she filled out for us. We really appreciate having the AED on site.

This was received very positively by the staff of all our buildings.

I find AED drills a VERY effective way to improve emergency response effectiveness. It finally seems like schools are taking this matter serious. By the end of the school year I hope to have AEDs in all of my buildings. Thanks for all your efforts in keeping our students in Michigan safe while they attend school.
